The TOP 462 A is built around the exceptionally rugged TOPTECH PLUS rotor unit, which features a large-diameter cam track for smooth tine movement and reduced wear. The rake uses 12 removable tine arms, each equipped with four dual-tines. These tines are positioned at a specific angle to gently lift the crop rather than dragging it, which is critical for preserving leaves in high-value forage like alfalfa or clover.
One of the standout features of the "A" (trailed) model is its tandem axle chassis. Unlike basic rakes that can bounce over ruts, the tandem axles follow the ground contours precisely, keeping the tines at a consistent height even at higher ground speeds. This is further improved by the optional MULTITAST front jockey wheel, which leads the rotor and detects ground changes before the tines even reach them, preventing the tines from digging in and contaminating the hay.
Transporting the 462 A is straightforward. For road travel, the tine arms can be removed and stowed on the frame, and the guard rails fold up to reach a very narrow transport width. This trailed design puts very little stress on the tractor's 3-point hitch, making it a perfect match for smaller utility tractors while still providing a massive 15.1-foot working width.
